The Advantage Pressure Bar is a compact, hands-free device that applies targeted point pressure directly over a wound. Combined with a tourniquet, wrap, belt or non-pressure bandage, it holds consistent pressure over the bleeding site, freeing your hands and keeping pressure on during patient movement.

Product Description

Holding direct pressure over haemostatic gauze for three to five minutes ties up a responder's hands at the worst possible time. The Advantage Pressure Bar removes that problem. Using patented Popp Point Pressure Device (P3D) technology, it applies focused, localised pressure at the wound while you move on to the next patient or intervention.

It works with equipment you already carry, including tourniquets recommended by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC), wraps, webbing, belts and non-pressure bandages. It helps with tourniquet conversion and lowers the risk of constriction-related injury by keeping pressure localised rather than circumferential. It also reduces the need for bulky gauze packing and wraps.

Three sized heads allow targeted use on different sites, and the storage card attaches to MOLLE or slips inside a pocket.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Advantage Pressure Bar?

The Advantage Pressure Bar is a Class I medical device that provides hands-free, targeted point pressure on a bleeding wound. It is secured with a tourniquet, wrap, belt or bandage so pressure is held without the responder's hands.

How does The Advantage Pressure Bar work?

Place the appropriately sized head over the wound or wound packing, then secure the bar with a tourniquet strap, wrap, webbing, belt or non-pressure bandage. The bar concentrates pressure onto the bleeding site.

Can I use it with my existing tourniquet?

Yes. The Advantage Pressure Bar is fully compatible with CoTCCC-recommended tourniquets, as well as wraps, webbing, belts and non-pressure bandages.

Does it help with tourniquet conversion?

Yes. By maintaining localised wound pressure, it can facilitate tourniquet conversion and reduce constriction-related complications.

Why use a pressure bar instead of holding direct pressure?

Holding manual pressure over haemostatic gauze for 3 to 5 minutes occupies the responder's hands. The pressure bar keeps consistent pressure in place hands-free, including during patient movement.

What size heads come with it?

The set includes three sized heads for targeted use on different wound sites, stored on a card that attaches to MOLLE or fits in a pocket.

What is the shelf life?

The Advantage Pressure Bar has an eight-year shelf life and is latex-free.

Is it TGA approved?

Yes. The Advantage Pressure Bar is TGA approved, FDA listed and CE declared as a Class I non-sterile medical device.

Where can I buy The Advantage Pressure Bar in Australia?

The Advantage Pressure Bar is available in Australia from MyMedEquip.
