A pocket-sized ECG ruler and interpretation card built by paramedics for use in the field, classroom or ward. Slides into an ID badge holder, clips to a lanyard, and gives you a structured approach to rhythm and ST analysis without pulling out a textbook.
Features:
- 8-step interpretation method: a structured approach to ECG assessment
- ST-elevation ruler with STEMI criteria: thresholds by sex and age group
- Axis interpretive key: work out axis at a glance
- Interval measurement: heart rate, PR, QRS, QT intervals and ST elevation or depression
- Durable build: 0.76mm thick transparent plastic that will not bend or crease
- ID card size: 85.5 x 54mm, fits standard ID and badge holders
- Lanyard hole: punched for quick attachment
Suited to paramedics, student paramedics, nurses, medical students and other healthcare professionals who read 12-leads regularly. Lay the transparent ruler over a printed ECG to measure intervals directly, then work through the 8-step method on the reverse to confirm rhythm, axis and ischaemic changes.
How to read an ECG with a ruler: align the ruler with the printed ECG, count small squares to measure PR, QRS and QT intervals, then use the ST-elevation scale to check STEMI criteria against the patient's age and sex.
Australia uses ECG as the standard term, though ECG and EKG refer to the same 12-lead recording.
